On-going

OnlineBefriending Your Pain Online Course
with Dr. Lee Lipp, David Zimmerman, & Paul Irving

Transforming Depression and Anxiety (TDA) is a gentle and practical path offered through San Francisco Zen Center (SFZC) that is open to all who believe they will benefit. Please consider enrolling in a TDA online offering to learn in community the skills and tools to manage thought, emotional and physical habit patterns that too often lead to lowered and agitated mood states. We are also offering our In person Finding Ease With Anxiety workshop at Green Gulch Farm in the fall Below are descriptions of 2023 offering categories, followed by calendar and registration information:

  • TDA Course: Hosted by SFZC, this is the foundational four-week online course, with class on Tuesdays and a practice session on Thursdays.

  • TDA Practice Group: Hosted by SFZC, this is the online class that follows the TDA course to support people who want to deepen their TDA learning and practice.  The practice group is open to all, and those who have not taken the online course are encouraged to enroll in a self-paced SFZC online course called Befriending Your Pain.

  • TDA Sangha: Hosted by Lisa Hoffman personally, classes through the TDA Sangha are offered to people who want to continue learning and deepening their TDA practice in community between SFZC offerings.

  • Finding Ease with Anxiety Workshops and Retreats: These one-day workshops and three-day retreats are offered at SFZC’s serene and lovely Green Gulch Farm, a short walk from Stinson Beach in Marin County.  The TDA mindfulness and psychotherapeutic tools are used to learn how to be present with anxiety from a place of quiet and stillness.  In this way we broaden our direct experience to include anxiety rather than being hijacked by it.
